His name is Eric, and his Chinese name is Nie Zirui. He is from Michigan, USA. He has determined to be a reporter since he was a child. By chance, he realized his life value in China and found a career and ambition to which he was willing to devote his youth.

In 2005, Nie Zirui, who was about to graduate from university, got the opportunity to intern at China Daily. He came to China but he still did not forget his dream of being a war reporter. In 2008, the Wenchuan earthquake completely changed Nie Zirui's life trajectory.

He traveled back and forth to the earthquake area 15 times. In eight months, he witnessed the miracles created by China. He was extremely shocked by the speed of post-disaster rescue and reconstruction. It was precisely because of these that he determined to stay in China.
