The adoption of children by foreigners within the territory of the People's Republic of China (abbreviated as “adoption by foreigners in China”) shall comply with the relevant Chinese adoption laws as well as the regulations of the country where the adopter is from. China has established adoption partnerships with 17 countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Citizens of the above 17 countries who intend to adopt children in China can follow the steps below to complete the adoption procedure:
