You can apply to convert your driving license to a formal Chinese one at the local vehicle administration office of the traffic administration department of public security bureaus, with the following documents: valid ID documents such as passport, valid visa for stay/residence of more than 3 months or valid stay/residence permit, your overseas driving license, the residence registration certificate issued by the public security bureaus and the physical health condition certificate issued by medical organizations at or above the county level. Foreigners who apply for a temporary driving license or a formal driving license in China shall also have their overseas driving license translated into Chinese.
