Ⅰ. Legal Basis
(1) Article 6 of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China
Exit-entry border inspection authorities may carry out border inspections on articles carried by passengers upon exit-entry in accordance with the needs to maintain national security and the order of exit-entry. Where necessary, the exit-entry border inspection authorities may carry out border inspections on goods carried by transportation vehicles upon exit-entry, but the customs shall be notified.
(2) Article 66 of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China
Exit-entry border inspection authorities may carry out inspections on passengers upon exit-entry in accordance with the needs to maintain national security and the order of exit-entry.
Ⅱ. Things to be Noted
1. Exit-entry passengers and transportation vehicles shall not carry prohibited items stipulated by laws and administrative regulations that endanger national security and social order;
2. Do not leave the country when carrying illegally documents, materials and other items that are classified as state secrets;
3. If exit-entry passengers transport guns and ammunition as carry-on or checked luggage, they shall apply for permission at the frontier inspection stations in accordance with relevant laws and administrative regulations. Without permission, no transportation is allowed of guns and ammunition as carry-on or checked luggage upon exit-entry.
