The border inspection authorities across China facilitated a total of 13.098 million exits and entries made by Chinese and foreign citizens during the National Day holiday in 2024, with a daily average of 1.871 million, reflecting a 25.8-percent growth compared with the same period in 2023. The highest exit-entry traveler volume was witnessed on October 5, reaching 2.035 million. Notably, Chinese mainland residents made 7.589 million inbound and outbound trips, reflecting a 33.2-percent increase year on year. The residents of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan made a total of 4.494 exit-entry trips, increasing by 13.2 percent compared with the same period last year. The exit-entry trips of foreign nationals reached 1.014 million, marking a 37.2-percent increase over last year's data. Additionally, the immigration management authorities in China inspected a total of 574,000 entries and exits of transport vehicles (planes, trains, ships, and motor vehicles), indicating a year-on-year increase by 32.6 percent.

Following the unified arrangement of the National Immigration Administration, the border inspection authorities in China rigorously implemented the "Two Announcements and One Reminder" policy. Specifically, the border inspection authorities made predictions of traffic flows at their respective ports, based on scientific grounds, and released the relevant information to help exit-entry travelers better make their travel plans and avoid peak hours to prevent congestion. In addition, focusing on the traveler volume changes at their ports, the border inspection authorities deployed more police officers and other staff workers, and opened sufficient inspection channels, ensuring smooth and efficient exit-entry services for Chinese and foreign travelers. Furthermore, the border inspection authorities enhanced cooperation with other relevant authorities to make careful arrangements for exit-entry passenger flow management during peak hours, take comprehensive measures for transportation, and adeptly deal with the challenges caused by extreme weather conditions, ensuring the timely and efficient dispersal of high volumes of travelers. The ports around China provided safe, efficient and smooth exit-entry services during this year's National Day holiday.
