Port Arrivals and Departures Totaling 10.45 million in Six Days of the National Day Holiday, 11 Percent Down Year on Year

In the first 6 days of the week-long National Day holiday, the country’s border inspection authorities inspected 10.45 million arrival and departure passengers, a year-on-year decline of 11 percent. In total 6.07 million arrivals and departures were made by mainland residents, 15.1 percent down year on year, with another 3.03 million by Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents dropping by 7 percent year on year. Foreigners contributed to 1.35 million arrivals and departures, 1.4 percent up year on year.

 

Large Airport Ports

The overall passenger traffic at large airport ports such as Beijing Capital International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport remained stable with little change compared with the same period of last year.

 

Land Ports Adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao SARs

 

Land ports adjacent to Macao SAR saw a rapid increase of arrival and departure passengers. Gongbei Port reported 440,000 arrivals and departures on a daily average, 6 percent up over last year. Comparatively, land ports adjacent to Hongkong SAR saw significant decline.

 

On the last day of the National Day holiday, ports across the country are set for a traffic peak of return passengers. Sufficient police force is being deployed by local border inspection authorities to full capacity to ensure safe and efficient inspection of return passengers.
