According to the statistics and assessment issued by the National Immigration Administration, the estimated average daily number of inbound and outbound travelers at domestic ports will be 600,000 during the Spring Festival holiday in 2023, an increase of approximately 200 percent year-on-year, accounting for 32.7 percent of the number in the same period in 2019. The number of inbound and outbound travelers passing through ports will generally remain stable at large international airports, including Beijing Capital International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. Large land ports near the Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR will see an increasing number of inbound and outbound travelers, which is expected to peak mainly on January 20 before the Spring Festival as well as January 25, 26 and 27 during the Spring Festival holiday. The average daily number of inbound and outbound travelers is expected to achieve 277,000, 57,000 and 42,000 at Zhuhai's Gongbei and Qingmao ports and Shenzhen's Futian port respectively.

Recently, the National Immigration Administration has made special arrangements to ensure smooth exit and entry at ports during the Spring Festival holiday, requiring all domestic border inspection authorities to make scientific predictions and release the number of inbound and outbound travelers at ports in a timely manner to provide traveling guidance for the public. Meanwhile, domestic border inspection authorities are also required to arrange sufficient police officers and inspection channels to offer well-organized services and ensure a waiting time no longer than 30 minutes for Chinese citizens' exit and entry as well as safe, smooth and orderly operation of ports.

The National Immigration Administration kindly suggest that inbound and outbound travelers should pay attention to the changes in the number of travelers and the actual entry/exit situations at ports before starting a trip. Travelers are also advised to carefully check the validity of their travel documents and visas, learn about the entry and epidemic control policies of their destinations in advance, make proper traveling plans, and take care of their own safety and health.
