China Sees 15.46 Million Cross-Border Passenger Trips During National Day Holiday

During this year’s National Day holiday, China’s border inspection authorities nationwide handled a total of 15.46 million inbound and outbound passenger trips by Chinese and foreign travelers, averaging 2.21 million per day, representing a 6.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The single-day peak occurred on October 4, reaching 2.40 million cross-border trips. Of the total, mainland residents made 4.44 million outbound trips, up 9.3 percent year on year. Foreign entries reached 682,000, up 5.4 percent year on year, with 505,000 made under visa-free policies, a 9.2 percent increase. In addition, border inspection agencies inspected 732,000 inbound and outbound means of transport, including aircraft, vessels, trains, and motor vehicles, up 14.7 percent year on year.
