Vice Minister Xu Ganlu Meets with Vietnamese Border Guard Commander Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien

Xu Ganlu, vice minister of Public Security, met with Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, commander of the Border Guard Command of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and his six-member delegation at the Ministry of Public Security on the morning of June 28, 2019. The two sides exchanged views on deepening cooperation of immigration law enforcement in border areas between China and Vietnam.

 

Xu Ganlu first expressed his congratulations on the successful talk on the cooperation of immigration law enforcement in border areas between China and Vietnam that had just concluded and reviewed the friendly exchanges between the two parties and the two countries in history. Besides, he commended the contribution made by enforcement departments of both sides to safeguarding national security and border stability and hoped that they can implement the consensus of cooperation reached by the leaders, jointly face head-on the complicated peripheral and international situation and make continuous efforts to open up further, develop economy and enhance people's well-being.

 

Xu Ganlu also introduced the establishment of the National Immigration Administration (NIA) and China's policies and positions on immigration management. He suggested that the two sides further friendly exchanges of the law enforcement departments between China and Vietnam and improve the law enforcement cooperation mechanism against violent terror attacks, smuggling, drug-trafficking and other cross-border criminal activities so as to safeguard the border security and stability. Moreover, the two sides should deepen cooperation in the building of the army and improve the relationship of law enforcement personnel.

 

Hoang Xuan Chien praised the important consensus reached during the talk and the long-standing friendly cooperation between Vietnam and China. He noted that Vietnam would actively implement the consensus, enhance cooperation in border management and exit-entry inspection and law enforcement, guide the army in cooperation with the Chinese side to prevent, contain and combat violent terror attacks and cross-border criminal activities, and further the cooperation and exchanges in political work, logistics guarantee and technology so as to improve the cooperation between China and Vietnam in immigration and border law enforcement to a higher level.

 

NIA vice administrator Qu Yunhai was also present at the meeting, together with officials from the Department of International Cooperation on Immigration Affairs, Department of Foreigners Management, Department of Frontier Inspection and Management, general stations of Frontier Inspection of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Yunnan Province.
