Vice Minister Xu Ganlu Meets with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi

Xu Ganlu, vice minister of Public Security and administrator of the National Immigration Administration (NIA), met with Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, on August 10, 2018, in Beijing.

 

Xu Ganlu explained China's policies and positions on the issue of refugee and pointed out that China, a country with a large population, has made great contribution to the world's stability and development. He emphasized that the resolution of refugee problems requires the eradication of the root cause under concerted efforts of countries across the world.

 

Xu Ganlu also said that NIA, as the state authority in charge of China's refugee affairs, would like to further cooperation with the UN Refugee Agency on the management of refugees.
