He gained a detailed understanding of the organization of cruise-related duty fulfillment, listened carefully to relevant work reports, and put forth the following requirements on their future work.

It is essential to ensure port security and stability, continue to consolidate accomplishments of ensuring security during the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and continue to work strictly and vigorously to ensure security during the second China International Import Expo. Efforts are required to innovate border inspection service management, take the initiative to serve the development of Shanghai's cruise economy, and make every effort to create a safer, more comfortable and convenient customs clearance environment.

It is important to strengthen political education, combine it with educational activities themed with "remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind", and inspire all police officers to transform the patriotic enthusiasm shown during the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China into ambition, passion and devotion to their own job that instills greater vigor into their workforce. Also efforts shall be made to actively seek local support, embrace the leadership of local CPC committees, and, on the basis of fulfilling their own border control duties, actively serve Shanghai's "five-center" endeavor, which is becoming a center for international economy, finance, trade, shipping, and science and technology innovation, for the purpose of making due contributions to the high-quality economic and social development of Shanghai.
