Xu Ganlu Meets with Shakhrat Nuryshev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to China
On July 27, Xu Ganlu, vice minister of Public Security and administrator of National Immigration Administration (NIA) met with Shakhrat Nuryshev, ambassador of Kazakhstan to China, and exchanged views on deepening cooperation in immigration between the two countries in Beijing.
Xu congratulated Nuryshev on his appointment to China. He spoke of the long history of friendship between China and Kazakhstan and the new height of permanent, comprehensive, and strategic partnership the two countries have reached after experiencing together the trials and hardships over the last 30 years. Over the years, the law enforcement and security departments of both countries have worked together on a series of pragmatic cooperation and made positive contributions to maintaining national security and stability along the border. The Ministry of Public Security and NIA are ready to work together with their Kazakh counterparts to fulfill their functional roles in accordance with the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, further pursue practical cooperation in law enforcement, security, and immigration, and vigorously promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations. At the same time, it was noted that work remains to be done on dealing with the impact resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, strengthening border and port management, cracking down on illegal and criminal activities, maintaining the stability of industrial and supply chains, and ensuring the legal and orderly exchange of personnel. Xu expressed China's sincere hope to keep in close contact with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China and ambassador Shakhrat Nuryshev.
Nuryshev expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Public Security and NIA for their efforts in supporting the Embassy of Kazakhstan, and spoke highly of the good and long-standing partnership that existed between their respective defense departments on matters of immigration and border control. He mentioned that Kazakhstan attached great importance to developing cooperation with China and promised that, during his tenure, he will make every effort to consolidate the legal basis for the cooperation and enhance practical communication and collaboration, promote personnel exchanges in the field of immigration at all levels, so as to make contributions to the economic and social development and people's well-being of the two nations.
Qu Yunhai, vice administrator of NIA, attended the meeting, together with principal officials from the Department of International Cooperation on Immigration Affairs, Department of Citizen Exit and Entry Management, and Department of Frontier Inspection and Management of NIA.
